The Next Generation
of Theatre Artists
Dodgeball Theatre produces new plays and original devised work. Dodgeball is dedicated to empowering young artists and developing their theatrical voices through all-ages classes, independent productions, and its youth company, the Teen Ensemble.
Dodgeball makes theatre focused on questions of identity, narrative, and storytelling. Its training method combines movement, improvisation, and nonfiction writing to develop mutimedia performances.
History
Dodgeball Theatre was founded in 2008 by Haley Murphy.
Teen Ensemble, Dodgeball's flagship program for young artists, was founded in 2007 by Haley Murphy and Heide Zufall. Teen Ensemble has performed across the region, including Wolftrap, GRACE Art, and FCPS.
Dodgeball has produced new work for the Capital Fringe Festival and hosted readings and development workshops for new plays by emerging playwrights.
Dodgeball is committed to bringing together established artists from Washington-area theatrical and educational communities and young people who are beginning to develop their artistic voice.
